Spanish liaison officer to the ITA Army General Staff, visited the Multinational CIMIC Group (MNCG).

On Thursday 22nd March Lt. Col Manuel Barrio Adiego, Spanish liaison officer to the ITA Army General Staff, visited the Multinational CIMIC Group (MNCG) at the Mario Fiore barracks. During the visit, the multinational headquarter staff had the opportunity to brief Lt. Col. Barrio Adiego on MNCG operational peculiar activities related to civil-military cooperation, MNCG current operations and educational/exercise activities.
Particular emphasis was given to the MNCG residential courses as part of the educational landscape, which continues to attract several military and civilian personnel that have vested interest into CIMIC. As of now, more than 1500 students have been trained by MNCG personnel.
MNCG unique capability lays on its capacity to develop a virtuous training and educational cycle, based on the experiences, best practices and lesson learned gained by CIMIC operators during operational deployment and poured into the training and education, in order to provide an education framework constantly aligned with the current complex and evolving scenarios/challenges.
MNCG is part of the Italian Army and it is a joint combined unit, including representatives from the six participating nations. The unit is capable to operate across the whole spectrum of military operations, ranging from Collective Defense Operations (NATO Art. 5 ops), Crisis Response Operations (NACRO5), Stability Operations and the support to Humanitarian Relief, Reconstruction & Development.
