Sanification activity at CIMIC Barracks

Disinfection at Multinational CIMIC Group in order to eliminate the possible presence of the pathogen Covid-19
The sanification of the premises and offices of "Mario Fiore" barracks, Headquarters of the Multinational CIMIC Group, led by Colonel Luca, took place on 28 April 2020.
The activity, which is part of the measures put in place to contain and reduce the contagion from Covid-19, is part of a wider program of provisions, readily applied to guarantee a healthy environment and protect the health of CIMIC Operators, relying on an internal regulation protocol, in addition to the disposals of the Italian Prime Minister's decree of 11 March 2020.
The sanification, carried out by the soldiers specialized in disinfection and belonging to the “Comando Operativo della Forze Terrestri di Supporto”, served to disinfect forty rooms for a total surface area of 8,400 square meters. This disinfection procedure was necessary in order to eliminate the possible presence of the pathogen on the surfaces inside the premises. A functional and basic activity, therefore, to work in safe environments from a health point of view in a period marked by an important epidemiological emergency.
Since 2002, the premises of the "Mario Fiore" barracks have been hosting personnel from the six Participating Nations, coming from Greece, Italy, Portugal, Romania, Slovenia and Hungary. Among the sanitized premises, therefore, there was also the NATO-affiliated Head Quarters, which represents a worldwide reference and consultation center for the civil-military cooperation operational function.
