SIMPLE GESTURES MAKE ALL THE DIFFERENCE
Specialists have supported a local family through careful liaison with a local association
Djibuti, April 2021
In recent weeks, in the village of Douda, the Multinational CIMIC Group operators, as part of the CIMIC cell of the Italian Military Support Base (BMIS), have made a delivery of a wheelchair donated by the ANPH Association (National Association for Disabilities) of Djibouti, with which, the operators, have built for years a professional bond aimed at supporting the local population.
The day before the donation, during a reconnaissance activity, CIMIC specialists had held talks with the president of the agro-pastoral association, who had reported the need for a wheelchair for a member of the village.
Thanks to the excellent relations built over the years by the MNCG operators with the ANPH association, in less than 24 hours the wheelchair was delivered to the little girl from the small Djiboutian village. The child's family warmly thanked all the persons who worked hard to meet their daughter's needs.
ANPH, a very active association in support policies for people with special needs, has included the child in her support program for people with disabilities.
The civil-military liaison activity has given the opportunity to strengthen relations between the village community and the Italian contingent, and has confirmed how professional and interpersonal relations, in CIMIC activities, are fundamental to operate in a serene and favourable environment.
