ADVANCED LIAISON MODULE CONCLUDED

31 students graduated from the CIMIC Liaison Course (CLC) held at the Multinational CIMIC Group (MNCG)

Motta di Livenza, October 8th, 2021.
From 4 to 8 October 2021 the "CIMIC Liaison Course", the advanced module in civil-military cooperation education and training, was held at the Multinational CIMIC Group in Motta di Livenza. The course is addressed to both military and civilians personnel, owning a previous background or experience in civil-military cooperation. The primary objective of the course, , is to enrich and consolidate, with additional training modules, the already CIMIC skills achieved in previous courses and training, in order to enable the participants to successfully and effectively operate in multinational and multidimensional contexts that characterize the current NATO operational scenarios. The course, held in presence and in full compliance with anti-contagion measures, enabled 31 students, coming from different countries and work contexts, to interact with the several Multinational CIMIC Group (MNCG) instructors and Subject Matter Experts as well as and with guest speakers such as Mr. Marco Bassetti, expert in communication, Mr. Nabil Kemli and Mr. Jordi Casafont, from the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), Ms. Caterina Pino, expert in inter-agencies coordination, governmental and non-governmental, and a field worker in various international contexts, from Africa to the Middle East.
Furthermore, the students were involved into a series of role-playing and syndicated activities aimed at consolidating the learning, in order to allow a subsequent analysis of experiences, interpersonal dynamics and, more generally, to exercise the communication processes developed in the course. The organization of the "CIMIC Liaison Course" enables the development of a virtuous cycle by implementing what has been learnt into CIMIC classes into military operations and teach into CIMIC classes what has been learnt from an operation. This is due to the experience of CIMIC operators achieved in crisis areas where the Armed Forces are called upon to operate, which allows MNCG to offer training that adheres to current, changing and complex operational scenarios.
