GREEN ENERGY FOR KOSOVO

Important project of CIMIC operators to cope the environmental pollution

Kosovo, June 2022.
In recent weeks, the donation ceremony for the installation of a photovoltaic panel system took place at Junik City Hall. The mentioned QIP is a project carried out by Multinational CIMIC Group (MNCG) operators deployed in Kosovo.
The 98% of Kosovo's energy needs are met by the consumption of lignite, a low-quality coal that has compromised both the air and the waters of region, as well as dramatically affecting the very life expectancy of Kosovars. The most of the energy, in addition, is produced in two old coal-fired power plants outside Pristina.
The project is one of those for the support of the civil administration in relation to the energy sector, with the aim of reducing air pollution in the area, improving air quality in order to avoid possible respiratory diseases, creating useful economies for the municipality to invest in other sectors and encouraging use of renewable energy within Junik municipality.
At the end of donation, Mayor Mr. Ruzhdi Shehu, expressed deep and sincere gratitude for plant received: a thought fully shared by various local authorities and the population present at the ceremony.
