MNCG Staff in Support of the US Civil Affairs Brigade and SAGE EAGLE Exercise
The staff personnel of the Multinational CIMIC Group (MNCG) played a prominent role in activities conducted in the United States with their American counterparts.
From May 29th to June 9th, 2023, the MNCG provided a CIMIC instructor, Lieutenant Colonel Lucia LOCATELLI, in support of the Special Warfare Centre (SWCS) of the 95th US Civil Affairs Brigade at Fort Liberty, North Carolina. Specifically, the instructor supported Phase 3 of the Captain Career Course (CCC) aimed at qualifying US Reserve personnel as Civil Affairs operators.
Lieutenant Colonel Locatelli also conducted CIMIC Military Training at the same location from June 10th to June 15th, 2023, for the 98th US CA Battalion. During this period, classroom lessons were conducted to present the MNCG, its organization, planning, and the conduct of NATO exercises, in accordance with BI-SC 070-035.
Furthermore, from June 9th to June 12th, 2023, a team from the MNCG (1st Lieutenant Antonio COLIA and Marine Orderly Andrea GASPARETTO) participated as observers in the SAGE EAGLE EX. 23-05. The MNCG team took part in various activities in the area between El Paso, Texas, and Las Cruces, New Mexico.
Given the increasing importance of cooperation and coordination among CIMIC, PSYOPS, and Special Forces teams, this exercise aimed to test the interoperability of assets in a conventional warfare scenario.
