Consolidation of Military Cooperation between Italy and Lebanon in the CIMIC Sector

From July 21 to July 27, 2023, the Multinational CIMIC Group conducted a significant experience-sharing activity in the field of civil-military cooperation. A Lebanese delegation of 10 personnel from the Lebanese Ministry of Defense was hosted as part of the structured cooperation between the two countries.

The primary objective of this initiative was to introduce the Multinational CIMIC Group to the delegation and promote a comprehensive exchange regarding CIMIC procedures during operations. A crucial aspect of this activity was to strengthen bilateral relations through civil-military cooperation involving full engagement of the Lebanon Armed Forces.

This collaboration aims to enhance the skills and operational capabilities of the involved military personnel, thereby increasing the effectiveness of joint operations achieved through practical training activities. Throughout the event, Italian and Lebanese experts had the opportunity to share experiences and lessons learned, contributing to a broader and deeper understanding of CIMIC processes and reinforcing the ability to manage complex and heterogeneous.

The Lebanese delegation, led by General El Alam IYAD, and the Commander of the Multinational CIMIC Group expressed satisfaction with the results achieved during this experience-sharing exchange, emphasizing the importance of promoting further similar activities in the future.
