CIMIC TACTICAL OPERATOR COURSE: THIS YEAR’S EDITION SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETED IN MOTTA DI LIVENZA
From 12 to 23 May 2025, the Multinational CIMIC Group (MNCG) hosted this year’s edition of the CIMIC Tactical Operator Course (CTOC) at its headquarters in Motta di Livenza. The course brought together twenty participants—officers, non-commissioned officers, and civilians—from Italy, Slovenia, the United States, and Hungary.
The training was designed to enhance participants’ understanding of NATO’s civil-military cooperation doctrine and to strengthen practical skills for conducting CIMIC activities in the field. The programme combined theoretical lessons with scenario-based exercises, immersing participants in realistic and challenging operational contexts.
A central feature of this edition was the inclusion of a scenario based on NATO Article 5, which provides for collective defence in response to an armed attack against any NATO member. The simulated crisis environment required close coordination between military personnel and civilian actors—reflecting the complexity of real-world operations. Of particular note was the involvement of the Parco Livenza Airfield management, a civilian partner from the Veneto region that played an active role in the exercise. This collaboration underscored the strong and growing relationship between MNCG and the local community.
The successful conclusion of the course confirmed the value of international cooperation and mutual learning, while further consolidating MNCG’s role as a key actor in the field of CIMIC training.
